Incoming Students

Welcome to the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of California, San Diego!

The major and minor programs in Astronomy and Astrophysics (A&A) will open for enrollment in Fall 2024.  The A&A majors are not capped and are open to all students interested in pursuing a STEM degree with a focus on astrophysical sciences.  

Course plans are available for both freshman and transfer students on our website.

Triton Days & Transfer Celebration

Please join us for Triton Days! Triton Days is an opportunity to disover the Triton experience at UC San Diego as a first-year or transfer student, and an opportunity to meet some of our Astro faculty and staff!

Programming Dates 

• Triton Days for First-Year and Transfer Admits: Saturday, April 13, 2024
• Transfer Celebrations for Transfer Admits: Friday, May 3 and Friday, May 17
